HI
Over $100, for dreaming.
Nike CDG Carnivore in Black. A gorgeous shoe.
Sugar cane Denim. Sugar Cane specializes in high quality Levi’s reproductions, but this pair is one of the rarer “interpretive“ category. However, the pair is still loosely based on a wide leg 1910 model, here using 14oz denim.
If all that tradition bores you, try the Junya Watanabe Lace Patchwork Denim.
A ‘NEIGHBORHOOD‘ DREAM
I had a dream about a jacket from one of my favorite brands, Neighborhood. Neighborhood is of the Japanese Americana ilk, producing work inspired by or reproducing American vintage cuts and aesthetics. Their specific niche is American military and motorcycle gear, and the graphic and cultural sensibilities that unite the two. Back to the dream: it involved a mid 2000s statement piece jacket. Below are my guesses as to what it was:
FW02 Parachute jacket. Zippers… There were definitely lots of zippers in the dream.
FW09 Deer Graphic Jacket that reminds me of the new graphic sensibilities of Human Made.
FW08 Dirty Harry Jacket. A masterpiece of workwear.
FW00 Mod bomber. A testament to the brand’s wide ranging influences and graphic prowess. Of course the dream jacket had many patches like this one.
Fragment Collaboration Blue Rider Jacket. The dream jacket was blue… maybe. Maybe not. Definitely wasn’t this expensive either.
Vulture Jacket. I’m losing hope… Will I ever remember?
NEPENTHES SALE
Nepenthes is the umbrella store that produces and sells Engineered Garments, Needles, South2 West8, and plenty other sensational sub labels. This year’s sale included some of my favorite pieces from last season at comparatively acceptable cost. This was my first year buying a Nepenthes piece and they have served me well (see the oxford trousers below). These are well made, storied, beautiful, durable garments.
AIE Printed pants in an orange auburn or Papery white.
Engineered Garments Oxford Pants in wool, green corduroy or navy corduroy
Engineered Garments Loiter Jackets in plaids, cordouroy or checks
All this too calm, preppy, neat, & cheap? Try South2 West8’s gorgeous, loud, pocketed Horn Camo River Trek Jacket
