After reading the brilliant LJ Templin’s My Own Private Oscars Ceremony last March, I immediately realized I’d have to create a similar silly structure for arbitrary awards.

Awards are below, and paid subscribers get some additional Met criticism (hi paid subscribers!). Enjoy:

Best Dressed (Womenswear): Taylor Russell in Loewe

Best Dressed (Menswear): Jeff Goldblum in Prada (duh)

Best Dressed Without Regards to Theme: Anon Yai in Swarovski

Made Me Personally Very Excited: Amelia Gray in Undercover

Most Underrated Outfit: Little Simz in… Burberry?

Most Confusing Branding exercise: Michael Shannon holding his Balenciaga Lays Bag

Largest Gap Between Commitment to Outfit and Media Exposure: Usher

Littlest Guy: Cole Escola in Thom Browne

Fanciest: Barry Keoghan in Burberry

Gayest (complimentary): Andrew Scott

Gayest (derogatory): Sam Smith

Best Hat: Hamish Bowles

Best Accessory (Non Hat): Mike Faist’s Loewe Beet

Most Likely to Ignite Nerdy Google Searches: Will Welch in Evan Kinori. Google it.

Most Chaotic Picture: Radhika Jones

Would’ve been a Marked Improvement from Red Carpet Looks if not for the Standards of the Met Gala: Greta Gerwig in Chloe

Most Spotted by Ben Leaving the Plaza: Ben Platt
